amazon fire tV

overview

In August of 2016, I was chosen as a designer to assist in Amazon's revamp of the Fire TV User Interface. Over the next six months, our team was tasked with producing graphics for over 40,000 movie and television titles. All graphics were created using Photoshop and required to follow the new UI style guide which included its safe zones, content requirement, and mostly to display a cohesive look across the entire UI. PROCESS

Each designer was assigned a certain amount of graphics/titles to produce for the week, which was usually upwards of 100-150. Each design needed to have the main characters and title easily viewable for the customer and within the safe zones.  In many cases this included creating seamless horizontal artwork from vertical assets, stitching together multiple pictures, color correcting, blending, cloning, patching, and resizing things until they looked just right.  Any additional texts, logos, or artifacts were removed to leave the viewer with a solid, clean image.

During the course of the project, I designed over 1,800 of those titles and due to the efficiency of the team, we were able to not only finish the project a month ahead of schedule, but also fifty percent under budget.
